Well, Dad says she’s not completely out of the woods yet, but she gets better by the day. He calls periodically and rambles … doesn’t much let me say anything. I wonder if he needs some place to vent, to be able to tell someone how he’s doing, even if he’s doing it through the telling of how Barbie’s doing. I just listen to him and say a quick “yeh” or “mmm hmm” so he knows I’m still on the phone with him. He’s faced with her mortality, too and I’m sure he’s every bit as terrified of her dying as he claims. It’s not just about love … she’s his sole purpose in life.

He also said nice things about my sister. That hasn’t happened in a long time.

For those of you who’ve sent prayers and hugs via email, thanks. Thanks for knowing I needed them, even if I couldn’t say help directly. :)
